Breed Specific Legislation
CityPits provides information on breed specific legislation. We would like to state up-front that we do not support BSL in any form. No bans on breeds will prevent criminals and negligent owners from raising and abusing dogs of all shapes and sizes.
This is a short-list of breeds against which there is a strong bias: - Pit bulls and/or AmStaffs and Staff Bull Terriers
If you think liability for your dog is covered under your home owner's insurance, think again, and check with your agent. Since they base their coverage on risk, popular breeds are soon blacklisted. Just ask your nearest Chihuahua owner. Here are just a few recent stories about this problem in our litigation crazed society:

PETA? Thanks, but...no.
PETA supports Breed Specific Legislation!
Yet another reason to not support PETA and support your local shelters and rescue organizations instead. Did you know that PETA also supports the complete extermination of the ABPT and AmStaff breeds?
Here is an article by Ingrid NewKirk, President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which clearly states their position against these amazing animals.
