Pit Bull Blog: Beach Day!

Hi! Daisy here with another exciting blog entry!
Last Thursday morning, July 16th 2009, mom and dad took me to a beach! I know they'd been talking about it for a while and it made me wonder what a beach was...mmmmm. Now I know and I love, love, love it!

perfect day!

you're right, daddy! it's cool!

It was the most perfect weather! The sun was out, breeze in my floppy ears and hot just like a summer day should be. I have to admit, I was little nervous at first to see all that water and wide open space. But daddy stayed with me until I relaxed. After I met a few dogs, I was comfortable enough to run with them. Next thing I know, I was running in the water!!
Did I swim? Not really! I enjoyed the cool water and everything but when I realized at one point that I was in too deep, I frantically ran back to daddy, BOL!

yay~!

I don't know what to do now...

Mom and dad were a little worried about how I would react to water and a crowd of strange dogs but I think I handled it very well.
Call me Daisy The Brave!
But there was this cream colored Lab who kept trying to mount me...people were kind of chuckling as they tore him away from me a few times. what can I say? I'm Gorgeous, haha!

there he is again, grrr!

I ran hard in and out of the water for a while without any breaks! When they hooked the leash on my collar, I refused to leave. I tried to sit down and did my stubborn mule act, but in the end, I knew I was tired. Plus, mom promised ice cream and a return to the beach in the near future!

good bye for now my beautiful beach...I shall return!

I fell asleep in the car on our way back and when we got home, mom gave me a bath in the tub. I had sand all over me and mom said I was smelly which was nonsense!!
I must have been really tired, though. Because, if there's anything I dislike more than the bath, it is the blow dryer. But I fell asleep while mom was drying me! Next thing I know, I got some ice cream and my cookie. After the tasty treat, I dozed off again on the couch next to mom. I swam and ran with friends in the sun in my dream!

ice cream time?

Isn't my life so wonderful? I wish I could share my life with all my pit friends on the streets and in the shelters. If you are reading this, please pass my story along to your friends. There are still so many pits labeled un-adoptable because no one gave them a chance at a normal dog's life. I never thought I would have a home! I was very shy and fearful but look at me now! I have a home, family and friends who love me and encourage me to be brave. Some of them were against my parents' decision to adopt a pit bull terrier! They are now my biggest fans!

Until next diary, fight BSL! Toodles~!
