Pit bull blog: Easter Adventure and Knee Injury

Hi! Daisy here! Welcome to my pit bull blog again!

on my way!
First of all, I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.
Since my last dog blog entry, a few things happened. My parents and I visited Grandma Nancy's place in Indianapolis last Saturday for Easter. I'd heard about it for a while, how it has a real big grassy backyard, how many birds and squirrels come by every day and so on. I was so excited to be finally going there!
We stopped at a place called fair oaks farms. Mom went inside a building there to get a few cheeses while dad took me around the farm for fresh air. Every smell was so different from anything I'm used to in the city! I wanted to run around but Dad said I had to be on a leash...oh, well!

After three and a half hours, we finally got to Grandma's! (I was a very good girl in the car). As we were getting out of the car, I heard Dusty saying "Hello~!" She's my big sister who lives at Grandma's. It was so good to see her again! Grandma Nancy had a bag of organic dog treats and some steaks waiting for me! yay! I also had some ham and sweet potatoes. I just wish it was Easter everyday, don't you?

Dusty and I ran around chasing each other, chasing balls, catching freesbie ( that was mostly Dusty) and chewing sticks- my favorite thing! We sat and watched birds and squirrels, too! They are fast little things, aren't they? I was having so much fun in the huge backyard I didn't know I hurt myself, oh no!
I started limping on Easter Sunday and it hasn't gotten any better since. Naturally, I've been mopey!

After we got back from Grandma's, mom took me to Dr. Andres to see what was really wrong with my leg. He manipulated my hurt leg very carefully and told my mom that I might have a tiny tear on a ligament around my knee! oh,no!! No surgery, though. He said athletic dogs like pit bulls and big dogs often have this kind of injury. He wants me on anti-inflammatory and doggy glucosamine for a few weeks. If it doesn't improve, then he's going to refer a doggy orthopedic specialist. I don't know what that all means, but mom doesn't want me to meet this specialist person at all!!

I never really enjoyed going outside, and it's even worse now since I have a bum leg. It hurts! I've been less active in general which mom can't decide if she likes me this way better or not. She sure feels bad for me though.
I don't like being in pain and I really hate to include bad news like this in my pit bull blog. Oh, well, right?

So, here it is, folks! No more running around at the dog park for at least 4 weeks! Poor me! I'm afraid my doggy friends might forget about me! Mom tells me I'm a little trooper when we go outside with a limp. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
To all my doggy friends: Be Careful When You Make Quick Turns While Running! Daisy out!
