CityPits Pit bull news

Pit bull news is all too often colored with a negative light. We rarely hear about the Pit bulls who saved the life of a family or friend and all too often hear about a horrible attack or incident. In many cases, the offending dog is not even a pit!

Pit Bull Rescue News

Illegal dog fighting operations are busted by Cook County Sheriff's Animal Crimes Unit every week. Most dogs rescued from such situations are medically taken care of at local shelters such as Chicago Animal Care and Control initially, but too often are put down for their aggressiveness towards other dogs and sometimes humans.
Please learn the signs of illegal dog fighting in your neighborhood and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement or call 911. It is an absolute horror that dogs (not just pit bulls, of course) are paying for their owners' crime.
CityPits News delivers incidents of dog fighting busts however unpleasant they may be to raise awareness.
Please don't leave your pits and bullies in the yard unsupervised. These criminals are kidnapping them to use them in fighting!

CityPits News will also cover Breed Specific Legislation, area events, and rescue adoption stories.
