Pit Bull Rescue Story: ChewyChewy : I am a lover, not a fighter.
When he was sent to a shelter in TN, the workers looked at him and decided that it was best to destroy him. He had all these scars, you see, therefore he must have been a fight dog. There aren't too many people who would keep a dog like Chewy alive out of fear that they are aggressive. Most shelters are overflowing with pit bulls anyway. Chewy had no idea what was going on but he had this sad feeling whenever people looked at him. It was out of pity, mostly, but it made him happy because, at last, someone was paying attention to him. As his last day drew near, people's affection for him grew bigger.
Enter Jessica H! She was one such person who saw beyond his scars. She saw his sad eyes and loving nature. Chewy had not a mean bone in his body. She couldn't let Chewy die! She searched high and low for a home or a rescue Chewy can go to. Her effort was finally answered when Bark Ark Bully Rescue in Cincinnati, OH said yes! The transportation was arranged for Chewy and once again, he set out on a journey into the unknown. When he arrived in OH, he was greeted by Bark Ark's founder and he knew he was going to be okay. He was fostered by the founder of Bark Ark. A few weeks later he found his forever home. Lucky for him, he didn't have to travel far this time. His foster mom adopted him!
Chewy still has a bit of a problem with meeting people because of his size and scars. Most of them, though, are won over by Chewy right away! He is such a loving soul, it's not possible not to love him! Chewy has come a long way. Fight ring, kill shelter and a loving home, finally! He loves to lounge around, give kisses, carry around his stuffed chicken toy all around the house and enjoys visits with his BFF, Bella. Most of all, he loves the love he gets from his mom.
